Internet is much too slow here. I had hopes of posting more video clips but those hopes were all but dashed… too bad. On another note, the project for the Weathers family is coming along nicely. People in Togo have been friendly and don’t mind when we ask to video them. This makes work much easier!
Last Saturday we had a day off which we (Andy, Awali, Agringan, Zumaru, the welder, Amanda and myself) used to visit confluence point 9N 1E. It was 6 kilometers there and another 6 back… as the crow flies. Throw in a couple more Ks to account for the many hills we went over and the ravines we crossed. We set out at 6:30 in the morning and arrived at the confluence point at 10:35am. The last 2 kilometers was bushwhacking on steep hillsides. On the way back we decided to stick to the riverbed that ran parallel to our previous route and that helped. We finally got home at around 3pm. If I had to do it again… Water… lots of water. We stopped at a place to get a drink on the way home. I drank too much sweet grapefruit juice and cold water and ended up throwing up when I got home. It took a few days to feel 100%.
